Leveraging Cloudera’s public cloud and enterprise AI solutions to build J-LAKE on Amazon Web Services

SINGAPORE, May 212024 - Cloudera, the data company for trusted enterprise AI, today announced that JPX Market Innovation & Research, Inc. (JPXI), the strategic data and digital business arm of Japan Exchange Group, Inc. (JPX), has selected Cloudera to help achieve their vision of becoming a global, comprehensive finance and information platform. Through this partnership, JPXI is looking to harness the power of cloud to enhance data management, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities on its new integrated data services platform, J-LAKE, for accelerated business transformation.

J-LAKE will centralize the management and analytics of JPX’s data, supporting functions such as business intelligence, AI and machine learning, and stream processing. This will enable JPXI to distribute insights promptly and accurately based on the analysis of clients’ needs. With J-LAKE built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), JPXI will be able to easily scale and expand its data distribution services across industries and borders via AWS’ global network and extensive technology infrastructure.

Central to this is Cloudera’s hybrid data platform with the capabilities to support multiple data architectures and analytics engines across all environments via a single, unified platform. To standardize J-LAKE’s data architecture, JPXI needed a modern data platform that could manage the entire data lifecycle. With the adoption of Cloudera on AWS, JPXI is looking to significantly boost its mission critical systems, reduce the time needed to provide operational services, and create services that provide new value. Cloudera’s integrated security and governance controls will accelerate JPXI’s strategic enterprise AI initiatives with secure and trusted data.

“In addition to the various technologies that make up J-LAKE, we believe that by developing these in-house, we will be able to quickly respond to customer needs and social changes, in the process expanding JPX's data and digital business,” said Kyoichi Nishibata, Director of Digitalization, IT Business Department at JPXI. “Our plan to migrate to Cloudera’s Public Cloud on AWS will allow us to leverage AWS’ highly flexible and extensive deep set of cloud-enabled technologies and technical know-how to accelerate innovation, while connecting us to AWS’ global partner ecosystem. Furthermore, as we are dealing with mission-critical data, Cloudera makes it possible for us to drastically improve the sophistication and efficiency of our operations.”

“We are delighted to support JPXI as they look to realize the potential of the public cloud for improved business performance. We are always exploring new ways to strengthen our collaboration with partners like AWS,” said Takeshi Osawa, Managing Director, Japan, Cloudera. “We will continue to innovate on our data analytics and enterprise AI public cloud offerings as we deepen our support for customers looking to achieve AI-powered productivity.”

Cloudera is working closely with JPXI to design and migrate Cloudera Data Platform to AWS. This includes support on stringent testing requirements and validation phase as JPXI looks to integrate Cloudera Public Cloud within JPX’s existing systems and infrastructure and complete the construction of J-LAKE before the end of the year.
