Cloudera credit update

Dear valued Customer,

Please note that effective as of February 26, 2024 (Adjustment Effective Date) Cloudera’s  Prepaid Credit program will be converted to be based solely on US Dollars (USD). Following the Adjustment Effective Date, Customers will be permitted to purchase Credits using all supported currencies; however, Credits purchased will be sold based on the published foreign exchange (Fx) rates to USD as detailed in the applicable Order Form. 

Unused Prepaid Credits in your account as of the Adjustment Effective Date will be converted to Credits for use based on the published USD exchange rate. Therefore, you may see adjustments noted in your account reflecting such changes. For clarity, this will impact all Prepaid Credits for Cloudera on public cloud, excluding those purchased in USD.

Moving forward after the Adjustment Effective Date, there will be a single burn down rate card for all public cloud use of Cloudera, which will be based on USD only. Rates can be found in our Rate Card page.  The impact of this is a direct benefit to our customers. Once purchased, Prepaid Credits will not be affected by currency FX rate fluctuations, allowing customers to predict Cloudera usage on public cloud costs accurately. 

Credit adjustments will be applied to purchases made in Euros (EUR),  British Pounds (GBP), Canadian Dollars (CAD), and Australian Dollars (AUD) before the Adjustment Effective Date. 

Example (Euro based transactions):

Customer purchased €95,000 of Credits on January 1, 2024, with an unused balance of €85,880 Credits as of the end of business on February 25, 2024.

Cloudera will issue an additional amount of 4,520 Credits on the Adjustment Effective Date. 

Credit Adjustment = (Unused Balance / Fx Rate for Currency) - Unused Balance.

= (85,880 / 0.95) - 85,880 = 4,520

The customer’s Credit balance as of February 26, 2024, would be the sum of the unused balance (85,880) and the Credit Adjustment (4,520): 90,400.

Cloudera will share your current Credit account balance as of the Adjustment Effective Date in the next billing cycle. If you have any questions please contact your designated Cloudera Account Manager.
